Eagle River Landfill Cell 9 Expansion
In 2020 Frontier Surveys provided survey support services for Cruz Energy Services on the Eagle River Landfill Cell 9 Expansion. This project consisted of excavating of approximately 384,400 cubic yards of gravel soils, placement of approximately 60,000 cubic yards of structural backfill, and installation of approximately 633,000 square feet of a composite liner for the new Cell 9 at the Anchorage Regional Landfill. The liner construction includes a prepared subgrade, foundation
material, Geosynthetic Clay Liner (GCL), 80-mil HDPE Geomembrane, Geotextiles HDPE Leachate Collection Piping and a Drainage Layer. Additionally, Frontier Surveys re-aligned approximately 1 mile of perimeter road to accommodate the new cell. Fencing and survey control was another element of the work performed, and approximately 1,471 linear feet of drainage ditch installed.
