British Petroleum Exploration Alaska (BPXA)
Well Services Maintenance Support & Civil Construction Support
From 2015-2018, Frontier Surveys supported BPXA with VSM (Piling) Install, Reserve Pit Remediation, Well As-Builts, Ice Pad Construction, Gravel Pad Construction, Geotechnical Reports & Pipeline/VSM/Well Head Subsidence Studies. This project included working with BPXA Project Mangers to identify and survey wells and pipelines that fell outside of tolerances that BP set forth in their Fit-For-Service Manual. Further, we developed a working plan set and scope to bring back wells and pipelines to design location and elevation.
While fixing pipelines that fell inside of the reserve pit (water settling pond for contaminated drilling fluids) we were tasked building/designing ice pads or gravel pads that could support the necessary equipment to lift the pipeline, set the piling and support the crane operations. Once done with a gravel pad we would remove the gravel from the reserve pit. During this process Frontier Surveys worked closely with BP to ensure we did not scratch the liner of the reserve pit. In some cases we would assist setting new liner in the reserve pit.
